When searching for the right vacation rental, you likely think about things like the price, living space, number of bedrooms, etc., but there are other things you should consider that will make a huge difference. They're the things many forget about, but they'll directly affect your vacation; for better or worse.

Avoid Peak Times When Possible

Most people take their vacations around the same time because the weather is nice, kids are out of school, etc. However, peak vacation times are horrible for vacationing because the prices go way up, there's terrible traffic on the roads, and every attraction is so crowded it takes away the fun. If you want to stay at the best vacation rental possible, go during the off-season, and you'll be able to afford something much better.

Pay More for a Place with Kitchen and Nearby Grocery Store

When you're looking for a vacation rental, paying a little more will make a significant difference in its quality, and one way to save money is by cooking your meals. You can save hundreds of dollars over a week if you buy food from a grocery store and cook your meals instead of going to restaurants three times a day. Therefore, you should find a place with a kitchen and is near a grocery store whenever possible.

Good Parking Is Crucial

In popular tourist towns, parking is often limited, so if you can find a rental with extra private parking, you'll be glad you did. There's nothing worse than getting back to your vacation rental after a long day of fun in the sun, only to struggle to find a place to park. If you treat it as a priority, you'll likely be able to find a vacation rental with multiple parking spots designated just for you, so you never have to worry about parking for yourself or any guests you invite.

Technology for Bad Weather

Many people are willing to stay at a vacation rental with limited technology because they figure they won't spend much time there anyway. However, if there's bad weather, someone's feeling sick, etc., you'll be glad you chose a place with plenty of wall outlets, internet access, TVs, etc.

Privacy

A lack of privacy is a significant problem when staying at a vacation rental. You want to find a place that will allow you to enjoy your time there without loud neighbors or worrying that people can listen to your private conversations.
